Olufemi Awoyemi, Founder and Chairman of Proshare Nigeria Limited (Nigeria’s foremost financial information hub) is a graduate of accounting and a Fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), the Institute of Directors (IoD), and the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC. He is an Associate member of the Institute of Management; and holds Honorary fellowships of the Association of Investment Advisers and Portfolio Managers (IAPM), Institute of Credit Administration (ICA), Business Process Management Institute (BPMI) and the Institute of Information Management (IIM).
Olufemi has been able to build an impeccable portfolio of commercial and management achievements, garnered over three decades of progressive responsibility and results with well-known local and international firms including PricewaterhouseCoopers, UAC of Nigeria, Eterna Oil & Gas Plc, Phillips Consulting, Fountain Trust Bank Plc, British American Tobacco and Proshare.
He has contributed immensely to, and has been actively involved in many initiatives, associations, academia and commercial activities including roles as the Technical Advisor, National Assembly House Committee on Capital Markets (2011-12) and member of the 2015 Technical Sub-Committee of the Nigeria Economic Summit Groups’ (NESG) Central Organising Committee (COC) and remains an active resource to the NESG.
Olufemi is the Chairman of the Financial Services & Capital Markets Committee. Vice-Chairman of the Ethics & Governance Committee, member Research & Advocacy Committee, and member Finance & General Purposes Committee of the Institute of Directors; the Chairman, Advocacy Committee and Vice Chairman, Publicity & Communications Committee of the Nigerian British Chamber of Commerce; a 3-term member of the esteemed Strategy, Research & Advocacy Committee to the Council of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, member of the Securities & Exchange Commission Capital Market Committee (CMC) on FinTech Roadmap for Nigeria; and since 2012 has acted as an independent member of the Investment Committee of Alternative Capital Partners Ltd (ACAP), a SEC registered Fund/Portfolio Manager and Corporate Investment Advisor.
Olufemi is currently serving as a pioneer member of the Governing Council of the Fintech Association of Nigeria; Governing Council of the Association of Corporate and Individual Investment Advisers (CIIA); Governing Council of the Association of Investment Advisers & Portfolio Managers (IAPM); Executive Council member of the Nigerian British Chamber of Commerce; member, Pearl Awards Board of Governors, faculty member at the Centre for Financial Journalism and CITC Leadership Centre Nigeria.

He uses his private time to deliver on knowledge empowerment engagements including serving as a consultant to the School of Post Graduate Studies, University of Lagos, on Entrepreneurship (2013-15) and continues to offer himself as a facilitator at many management retreats, personal finance empowerment training, thought leadership and knowledge sharing sessions of blue chip firms, NGO’s, universities, professional groups, Federal and State Governments.
He has published hundreds of reviews, opinions, articles, research work and publications in the last three decades covering workplace issues, market intelligence, service/practice/innovation issues in the capital market, corporate governance in Nigeria, public policy and impact assessments, white collar crimes in corporate Nigeria and the markets. His articles have appeared in dailies, economic and business magazines, journals and the electronic media.
At Proshare, he oversees the strategic direction of the nation’s leading financial information hub and his visionary leadership has inspired Proshare’s well-earned reputation locally and internationally over the years, which has been recognised vide awards such as the London Stock Exchange’s 2019 Companies To Inspire Africa award, FintechNG 2019 Contribution to Nigeria’s Fintech Ecosystem award, FMDQ 2018 Gold Partner award, FintechNG 2018 Service To Market award, the International Finance Magazine (IFM) 2015 “Most Innovative Capital Market Service Team, Nigeria” award; the CFI.co 2014 “Best Capital Markets Solutions Team – Nigeria” award, and the 2014 Nigeria-British Chamber of Commerce (NBBC) Rising Star award, amongst others.

He was at various times the pioneer Chairman of the board of directors of Value Fronteria (2009-2015), a competitiveness optimization firm, the pioneer President of the Online Publishers Association, Nigeria, OPAN (2012-2017), a member of the editorial board of the Banking Journal of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), Financial Standard Newspapers (where he ran a weekly column for five years); Lagos Business School Alumni Magazine; and founding Editorial Board Chairman of Brandfaces, a brand marketing journal.
His interests include financial markets education, empowerment initiatives, Tech solutions; strategy articulation & execution, market intelligence, future trends, knowledge management, community development, documentaries and sports to which he remains an active enthusiast in five sports. He is happily married with kids.
