Dr. David Isiavwe is currently the General Manager and function head of Operations & Technology at Ecobank Nigeria. He is also the current President and Chairman Board of Trustees of the Information Security Society of Africa, Nigeria (ISSAN), a not-for-profit organization focused on securing the cyber space of Africa. He was previously General Manager at Union Bank of Nigeria Plc as well as the Chief Operating Officer, UBA Africa. Also, he was the Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Banque Internationale Du Burkina (BIB) – in Burkina Faso, West Africa.
David Isiavwe has approximately 30 years working experience spanning the Banking industry as well as the academe having been a lecturer at the Department of Accounting, University of Benin from 1989 before joining Citibank in 1992 where he rose to the rank of Vice President, based in Cape town South Africa.
David holds a Ph.D. degree in Accounting. His key areas of interest and specialization include Digital Transformation, Corporate Governance, Business Transformation/Turn-Around and the Security of Information Systems. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA); an Honorary Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (HCIB) and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) by the (ISC)² of the United States of America as well as being Certified in the Governance of Enterprise Information Technology (CGEIT) by ISACA also in the United States of America. David holds additional professional certifications and has attended extensive international courses in diverse fields of study from notable universities like Harvard University, Boston University, University of Oxford – Saïd Business School, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a host of other institutions.
